FRIDAY FIVE

just now1-060

Can't believe it's Friday again.
Lately days seem to just fly by and soon it's almost August. I mean, didn't summer just start?

But as it is Friday, it's also time for the weekly five things inspiring me or that I'm currently crushing over.

1. Lately I've been embracing everyday products that also work as a piece of interior. Whether it's a flowering pot or a hand soap, choose wisely. As it's an easy way to make your home feel personal and detailed, without having to buy extra stuff - you need a hand soap anyway, right?

2. We all know that the basket bag is the biggest hit of the season and I love how fresh it looks with blue denim and a white shirt. Definitely extending the trend to those cooler autumn days.

3. Living in a new flat has exposed me to the world of interior design yet again. After living in a temporary flat in Paris and then at my parents place for a year, I haven't really been able to make a place feel like my own in a little while. So nesting is definitely taking place currently.
On the top of my wishlist: a floor lamp, flower pots and a bedside table.

4. I think I need these Marte Frisnes earrings into my life. Maybe a birthday gift from me to me - August, come already !

5. A lovely guide to East-London shopping by goop. And I'll probably end up being broke after making some home interior purchases..

On the other hand I'm all for planned wardrobes, pre-thought purchases from a carefully curated shopping list and vacations booked and planned months beforehand. You know, keeping it smart and sensible. But sometimes being spontaneous beats all that.

Whether it's buying that shirt you're not too sure you'll ever wear but that makes you smile. Or booking flights when you're bank account is telling you to do the opposite. Because often those things end up being the best things. And I need to point out, this is not a good thing if it becomes a habit - then it's not even spontaneous at all. But what I'm trying to say, is that sometimes doing the unexpected ends up being the course of action worth taking.

In this outfit I'm actually wearing two purchases that were made spontaneously and when I was buying both of them I kept on thinking whether I'll ever end up wearing them. And suddenly when combined together, they became one of my favorite summer outfits.

In all honesty, I'm just probably trying to justify buying flight tickets extempore. In my defense, they are tickets to go home for a few days.
So Finland - see you in three weeks !

Singapore - a weird mix of humid jungle vibes and modern architecture. Local noodle bars and fancy rooftop terraces, with views worth seeing.

And somehow that combination works really well.

Here is a little list of things to do when visiting Singapore:

- Marina Bay Sands rooftop terrace
- Singapore botanical gardens
- Brunch at the Providore
- Visit the Raffles hotel for drinks or afternoon tea
- Gardens by the Bay - the light show is amazing
- Dinner at a local noodle bar - the less fancy the place, the better the food.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Untitled

// Bag A.P.C Paris / Fragrance Byredo / Sunnies Céline / Phone case Ideal of Sweden

Some current favorites. I don't own too many bags, but even with the few I have, I tend to rotate them. This one from A.P.C is my go to bag at the moment.

Also my project on creating a big urban jungle has gotten a little out hands, as it has spread to my phone case too. Love this one from Ideal of Sweden.

Now I'm off to Canada ! Have a lovely Sunday.

FRIDAY FIVE

just now1-059

1. Currently coveting the nano half moon box. There is just something I really love about the simple designs Victoria Beckham creates. And I definitely admit to being a fangirl to the whole Beckham family.

2. Whenever I happen to stumble across a new brand I like, I can't keep quiet and I have to share it. My latest find is this Asceno, a London based brand which concentrates on creating amazing silk pyjamas and swimwear. In my opinion, they've created just that perfect balance between effortless and cool. And to keep this short and sweet - I'm in love.

3. I always like clothing that can be worn during different seasons. Lately I've found flared white jeans to work really well on those more chilly summer days and I can't wait to wear them with my favorite knitwear when the temperatures drop.

4. As I'm always in search for the perfect beauty products, it's amazing to have sources of inspiration who are like minded when it comes to skincare and hair products. Loved this post by Lucy Williams and got a few new additions to my shopping list.

5. I linked this post from Musla already on the dejiss facebook page, but loved the photographs so much and thought it deserved to be a part of this weeks friday five. Just love the vacation vibe captured in these.

summer playlist

So today I thought I'd share something in addition to these photos from Bali which I chose due to their instant vacay vibe. I tend to share mainly visual contents on my blog, but I was recently reminded how nice it is to share music with someone and thought it would be nice to share some music with you.

I would describe my taste in music as miscellaneous, well who wouldn't. But today I gathered some of my favorite tunes into a playlist of 60 songs. Mainly songs that for some reason remind me of summer days - perfect for long mornings, late summer nights or rainy summer days spent in bed. And well, those nice gatherings with friends, whether it's a picnic outdoors or a dinner at home.

Enjoy !

There's something about a pair of jeans and a white shirt that works. And if you want to transform this combination into a summer outfit, wear sandals and a woven bag - whether it's a leather one or the hottest accessory item of this summer (I think you all know that I'm talking about basket bags..) it gives your simple outfit instant summer vibes.

I'm currently having a few days off from work, though spending them glamorously at home as I caught the flu. But what I learned from this is that I need to take care of my body better. Well to be honest, it was more like a good reminder of things I do know but often forget. So todays to do list is to treat my body with long a long bath, a good rest and a little home spa moment. And hopefully I will soon be as good as new.

Also I'll post soon about a few new beauty products that I've been using. Stay tuned and take care of yourself !
